The inspiration for this piece came from those beautiful renaissance still life paintings by the Dutch masters. Indian mynah, perched on an artichoke head, in an antique silver dish. On this dish is a large chunk of raw amethyst. Hiding on one of the rear leaves is a little Austroscolia soror (blue flower wasp).
